As Singapore approaches its 60th National Day, we understand that many of your boaters are already planning to take to the water to enjoy the festivities and fireworks from the sea.
While the Singapore Boating Industry Association (SBIA) is not organising a formal flotilla, we do expect a high volume of pleasure craft to gather around the usual viewing zones. To help ensure a safe and enjoyable evening for all, SBIA has prepared a set of boating safety best practices, which we hope you’ll share with your boaters.
You’ll find the safety advisory attached. It includes:
-
Common gathering zones and notes on expected traffic
-
Key safety reminders for navigation, VHF watch, float plans, and vessel spacing
-
Guidance on emergency contacts and proper departure behaviour
We kindly ask for your support in distributing this document to your boating community over the next week.
For any clarifications, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at secretariat@singaporeboating.org.
Thank you for helping keep Singapore’s waters safe this National Day, and let’s look forward to a memorable SG60 celebration on the sea.
Warm regards,
Singapore Boating Industry Association
